Health Works Institute is pleased to announce that the school has been re-accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) for a period of seven years. School Owner/Director, Ruth Marion, established Health Works Institute in Bozeman, in 2000. The school was first accredited in 2003 and the accreditation includes both the massage therapy program and the esthetics (skincare) program. COMTA is approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) to accredit both massage therapy and esthetics programs.

Accreditation by COMTA allows schools to apply to administer federal student financial aid programs. The school has been approved by the USDE since 2003 to administer Pell Grants, Direct Loans, and the Parent Loan for Undergraduate Student (PLUS). Accreditation provides recognition of the quality of all aspects of the operation of the school, including: program content, educational methods, teacher qualifications, financial management, student satisfaction, performance, and completion, graduate placement rate, recruitment methods, learning resources, student services, and ongoing professional development for faculty and administrative staff.

According to a recent study published in the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, the average graduation rate for schools accredited by COMTA is 88 percent, whereas schools accredited by other agencies have an average graduation rate ranging from 60 to 84 percent.

Health Works Institute is the only COMTA-accredited school in Montana providing esthetics and massage therapy programs. COMTA accredits schools for anywhere from three to seven years; Health Works Institute’s seven year term indicates the strength of the school’s ability to consistently maintain full compliance with accreditation standards. Health Works Institute is located at 407 West Main Street in Bozeman. The next enrollment date for both massage therapy and esthetics programs is April 20th. Health Works Institute’s Clinics offer low-cost treatments and are open to the public. The school also provides continuing education for both massage therapists and estheticians.
