Mindful Community Outreach is part of Health Works’ mission to enhance the health of individuals and our community. Since opening our doors in 2000, Health Works Institute has promoted community wellness by offering student treatments to members of the public, as well as non-credit, community classes in a variety of health topics. The school donates numerous gift certificates for massage therapy and skin care treatments to numerous nonprofit organization fundraisers, and we have provide complimentary treatments to a wide variety of groups and individuals, including participants in sports events, people with cancer and disabilities, and women recovering from domestic violence.
We honor people who serve others, focusing on staff and volunteers at numerous community agencies. We reward their service by providing coupons for big discounts on massage therapy and skin care treatments. We also offer the opportunity for community members to serve as subjects in students’ research projects that document the beneficial effects of massage therapy and esthetics treatments. Each year the school donates to the fundraising efforts of a wide variety of local non-profit organizations by providing student clinic gift certificates and beautiful gift baskets containing healthy body care products.
Treatments for Everyone!
Community members support our students’ education by receiving massage and skin care treatments at the school. During the sessions, students apply techniques focused on improving the appearance and health of the skin, relieving pain and discomfort and reducing stress. Students are closely supervised by an instructor who coaches the students in refining their skills to meet the diverse needs and preferences of their clients. Clients benefit from receiving low-cost treatments, and students benefit from the entire experience, especially the thoughtful feedback provided by clients. To schedule your appointment, click here!
Health Works graduates and instructors offer a number of classes in non-professional massage therapy for family and friends. Classes include basic massage, partner massage, reflexology and pet massage. To see the class schedule, click here.
Community residents are welcome to check out materials from Health Works’ massage therapy and esthetics library, which contains materials on a variety of complementary and alternative health topics and physical, emotional and spiritual wellness.
