The Health Works Institute Facility
The facility is approximately 5,000 square feet in size, which constitutes 50% of the building. The other two tenant spaces are occupied by a salon and an employment service. The entire building was completely remodeled in 2014.The space is full of light, well-ventilated with climate-controlled areas, comfortable and well-suited to educational purposes. The school facility includes three classrooms, reception area with bookstore, library, four administrative offices, kitchen area, student lounge areas and student lockers.
Massage Therapy Classroom
The massage therapy classroom is equipped with a large whiteboard, 12 massage tables with face cradles, 8 massage chairs, 12 massage stools, 2 tabletop face rests, 12 bolsters, 1 Body Cushion System, 2 massage table extension pads, 2 hydrocollators, 24 yoga mats, 2 gym balls, 1 meridian chart, 1 meridian model, 1 Five Element chart, 24 floor-seating (“camp”) chairs, a trigger point chart, large format anatomical charts for the muscular, skeletal, nervous and circulatory systems,a digital projector and a laptop computer, a wall-mounted postural assessment grid and curtains to create private treatment areas. Stereo speakers are mounted on the walls of the classroom, and relaxation music is provided with a stereo system located in the reception area.
The esthetics classroom is equipped with 2 whiteboards, 2 facial beds, 1 electrically-operated massage table, 9 manually-adjustable massage tables, anatomical charts for the structure of the skin, head and neck, a digital projector and a laptop computer, 12 bolsters, 12 stools, 1 microdermabrasion machine, 4 multi-function machines, 12 steamers, 12 magnifying lamps, 12 towel warmers, 2 paraffin baths, 4 Woods lamps, 4 portable high frequency units, 4 portable galvanic units, 12 wax pots, cabinets containing tools, dispensing containers, products, linens, 5 sinks with counter-top space for disinfecting and sanitizing, and curtains to create private treatment areas. The lecture classroom is each equipped with 12 seminar tables, 24 chairs, whiteboards, large format anatomical charts for the muscular, skeletal, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems, an articulated skeleton, a digital projector and a laptop computer. Available to one classroom at a time are an overhead projector, slide projector, DVD/VCR player and video monitor. Also available are Manikens®, which are specially-designed skeletal models used in anatomy classes for placing muscles formed from clay in their anatomically correct locations and positions.
